LTTE air craft found in Pudukuduirippu

[September 01 2010]   

Components of light Aircraft or a Glider were found in a partially destroyed container in the Kareimulliwaikkal area by SLAF intelligence personnel from SLAF Trikonamadu. Earlier during the same operation a cache of partially damaged arms and munitions were discovered from the Wellamullawaikkal area.

Sri Lanka Army troops and De-mining groups continued clearing and de-mining operations have uncovered more LTTE military hardware hidden in Vavuniya,Mannar,Kilinochchi and Mullaittivu districts yesterday (30 August), military sources said.

Mine clearing operations a success in North & East

In a recent report released the Sri Lanka National Mine Action Center (SLNMAC) concluded that as at June, 2010 a total area of 1,541,880,972sqm in North and East as cleared-off, while an area of 2,468,119,028sqm remaining to be swept by the Army engineering corps.
