National design competition for Medal of Honour The Ministry of Defence Pubic Security, Law and Order under the instructions of Secretary Defence Mr. Gotabaya Rajapaksa has decided to pay tribute to family members of war heroes, commemorating end of the 26 year odd terrorist cause. A medal of honour will be handed over to parents, wife and children as a token of appreciation from Sri Lankans, for the vital contribution made in the successful completion of the humanitarian operation. Hence, the Ministry invites all creative Sri Lankans including expatriates to forward designs of this medal, for the open design competition on or before 01st July, 2009.
