Army builds new sanitary facility for Kotagala Tamil School

The new sanitary facility built by the Sri Lanka Army at Kotagala Tamil Maha Vidyalaya was vested to the use students during a brief ceremony held on Saturday (06 May), According to Army media sources the new facility which includes six washrooms was condtructed by the Army in keeping with a pledge made by the President during a stopover en route to Nuwara Eliya.

During his conversations with the people present there, the Preseident was made aware of this requirement of the school. Commander of the Army on being informed of the President's pledge had instructed Security Force Headquarters - Central to build six more new washrooms for the school to be in line with the President's assurances given to the school Principal.

Troops of the Corps of Engineer Services (CES) and 19 Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG) completed the project at a cost of five hunsred thoudand rupees. Troops also placed a new water supplysystem for the facility.
