Free spectacles for Jaffna people

Sri Lanka Army troops in Jaffna provided 1500 spectacles to people with visual impairment living in Point Pedro in the Jaffna peninsula during a ceremony held on Wednesday (27). According to Army media, the ceremony was held at the Kunjalkadei Collins Sports Club premises on Poson Poya Day.

The spectacles were provided to people with visual impairment after an eye clinic was held earlier to identify beneficiaries.

The donation ceremony was attended by the Commander, Security Forces Jaffna, Major General Darshana Hettiarachchi, senior military officers, senior state officials and representatives of Sri Lanka Eye Donation Society.
