[July 11 2018]
Sri Lanka Army
troops in Kilinochchi had
organized a series of 'Sharamadana'
(Self-help) programmes with a
view to assist the local
populace and strengthen mutual
understanding, last week.
According to Army media, more
than 150 personnel under the 65
Division under the Security
Force - Kilinochchi attended
these Sharamadana programmes
held in different locations in
the region during 5-7 (July).
Accordingly, a Shramadana campaign was held to clean
the Kansapuram Pullayar Kovil (temple) premises while another one was
conducted to clean the Koddekaddiyarkulam to Ambalaperumalkulam road.
Another programme was held at the Oddaruthhakkulam Radam pre-School to
clean the school's premises.
Such community welfare programmes are regularly
organized by the troops in the region to assist the local communities to
uplift their living standards. These initiatives are highly appreciated
by the people who on many occasions have turned to the security forces
when in need of assistance.
