Last group of the CCC flies to Mali

[January 12 2018]

The final batch of the Mali-bound Combat Convoy Company (CCC) of the Sri Lanka Army left the island to join their compatriots in Mali on Wednesday (10th January). The 32 man group which left for Mali completes Sri Lanka's 200 strong contingent for the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA).

The initial group of 150 Army personnel left to take up their roles in the UN Mission in the later part of December (24) last year while 18 more left the country on Tuesday (09th January). The CCC is comprised of men drawn from ten Army Regiments and will serve in the UN mission for one year.
