Navy helps a critically ill fisherman

Sri Lanka Navy had assisted to bring ashore a critically ill fisherman who had a heart attack onboard multiday fishing trawler "Gregory I" yesterday (20th Thursday, April 2017).

According to the Navy media, Sri Lanka Navy's Fast Attack Craft P 414 attached to the Southern Naval Command was deployed 42 Nm off the Galle Light House to bring the patient ashore. Subsequently the patient was transferred to Karapitiya Teaching Hospital for further treatment.

The report also said that the Navy had acted upon receiving information from the Department of Fisheries & Aquatic Resources.
