Navy installs RO plant in Galenbindunuwewa

Sri Lanka Navy installed and offered a Reverse Osmosis (RO) plant to community living at Sri Uthpalaramaya, Upuldeniya in Galenbindunuwewa yesterday (1st Saturday, October 2016).

The newly installed RO Plant is capable of providing safe drinking water for 300 families in the area and 350 children of Upuldeniya Vidyalaya. Galle Face Hotel financially assisted the project and Sri Lanka Navy's Research and Development Unit completed the construction.

So far the navy has installed 30 RO plants across the island with a view of providing safe drinking water to people. Further, the Navy had also initiated a progrmme to make the general public aware of Chronic Interstitial Nephritis in Agricultural Communities (CINAC) to coincide with the installation of RO plants.

Sri Lanka Navy also installed and offered two RO Plants to the use of Maha Sangha at the Buddhasravaka Bhikkhu University of Anuradhapura recently (29th September).
