Navy installs four RO Plants for community use

Sri Lanka Navy installed four more Reverse Osmosis (RO) plants under its community welfare project on Tuesday (27th December 2016).

According to the navy media, 2 RO plants were declared open in the village of Silwathgama, Galewela and each in Dekethipothana, Horowpothana, and Naval Agricultural and Livestock Project in Trincomalee.

Navy's Research and Development Unit had constructed theses RO Plants under the financial assistance from the Presidential Task Force on Prevention of Kidney Diseases. These new water treatment plants are capable of providing safe drinking water for over 1,300 families.

Up to date Navy had installed 78 RO plants around the country benefiting 35,800 families and 27,000 school children.
