Navy installs three RO Plants for community use

Sri Lanka Navy had installed three water treatments
(RO) plants under its community welfare project at Kusum Pokuna
Pushparama Viharaya in Medirigiriya, Bodhirukkaramaya in Diyasenpura and
Abhayawardhanaramaya in Abhayapuragama on Saturday (25th February 2017),
said the navy media.
Accordingly, RO plants installed in Kusum Pokuna
Pushparama Viharaya, Bodhirukkaramaya and Abhayawardhanaramaya are
capable of providing safe drinking water to 1170 families and 24 monks
living in the area and temples. The financial contribution for these RO
systems was made by the Ministry of Buddhasasana.
In addition seven more RO plants were also installed
at Rambewa 'Ranaviru Village', Diyasenpura 'Ranaviru Village',
Dematamalgama 'Ranaviru Village', Presidential Secretariat Office,
Marine Battalion, SLNS Mahanaga, Divisional Secretariat in Buttala
Up-to-date, Sri Lanka Navy's Research and Development
Unit had installed a total of 140 RO facilities across the country
facilitating over 61,139 families and 47,445 school children.
