Navy installs water treatment plant at school

A Reverse Osmosis (RO) water treatment plant was installed by the Sri Lanka Navy at the Maithreepala Senanayaka Vidyalaya in Medawachchiya on Monday (04th April 2016). The RO plant was installed at the school to provide the children with clean and safe drinking water.

Sri Navy had installed a number of such water treatment plants in the North Central region where the prevalence of Chronic Kidney Disease is high.

These RO plants are installed under the Navy's community welfare programme and are built with the expertise and technical know-how of the Navy's own Research and Development unit.

Commander North Central Naval Area, Rear Admiral Dimuthu Gunawardena declared open the RO Plant during a simple ceremony at the school.
