Navy installs water treatment plant at school
A Reverse Osmosis (RO) water treatment plant was
installed by the Sri Lanka Navy at the Maithreepala Senanayaka Vidyalaya
in Medawachchiya on Monday (04th April 2016). The RO plant was installed
at the school to provide the children with clean and safe drinking
Sri Navy had installed a number of such water
treatment plants in the North Central region where the prevalence of
Chronic Kidney Disease is high.
These RO plants are installed under the Navy's
community welfare programme and are built with the expertise and
technical know-how of the Navy's own Research and Development unit.
Commander North Central Naval Area, Rear Admiral
Dimuthu Gunawardena declared open the RO Plant during a simple ceremony
at the school.
