New house for needy woman in Wanni
[January 08 2019]
A needy woman
living in a remote village in
the Wanni region became the
beneficiary of a new house
constructed under a welfare
initiative of the Sri Lanka
Army. According to Army media,
Ms. R Rasamalar, a resident of
the remote Kurumankadu village
was presented with a new house
during a ceremony, held last
week (03 January).
The house was built by the Army with the 'Sadhaham
Suwa' Buddhist Association in the Vavuniya General Hospital providing
required building materials for the project. The decision to build a
house to this helpless woman who is a chronic patient and didn't have a
proper place to live was made by the sponsoring Association after her
plight was brought to its notice. The Association in turn had sought
Army's assistance for this worthy project.
The house was presented to the beneficiary during a
ceremony attended by religious dignitaries, state officials, military
officers and representatives of the donor agency.
