"Piyawara" project reaches milestone in establishing 50 Pre-schools

The 50th pre-school built under the "Piyawara" project was vested on the children of Siyambalawa in Anuradhapura, recently. According to Army media, this project was initiated with the aim to build 50 pre-schools for the children in the Wanni region by the Security Force Headquarters - Wanni (SFHQ-W) in collaboration with the Hemas Outreach Foundation.

These 50 pre-schools constructed largely by troops are in operation in many parts of the country. A large number of these pre-schools operate in the Wanni region where 3500 children undergo early childhood learning in order to prepare themselves for formal schooling assisted by 150 teachers.
