State Minister visits French Ship 'Auvergne'

The State Minister of Defence Hon. Ruwan Wijewardene visited the French ship 'Auvergne' at the Colombo harbor, today (05th Tuesday, December). The State Minister was received by the Commanding Officer of the ship, Captain Xavier Breitel upon his arrival to the ship.

During his visit, the State Minister was given a guard of honour and taken on a tour of the ship. Mementos were also exchanged between the State Minister and Captain Breitel to mark the occasion.

French Ambassador, H.E. Mr. Jean-Marin Schuh, Chief of Defence Staff, Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne and Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Sirimevan Ranasinghe were also present at the occasion.

The French Naval Ship 'Auvergne' arrived in the country on Sunday (03rd December) making a four-day official goodwill visit.
