Tigers shoot a civilian for disobedience - Jaffna, at 5:40 p.m. on
03 Jan 2007
Tiger terrorists shot and injured a civilian aged 48
for not carrying out their instructions in Kudaththanai, Point Pedro
around 5.40 p.m. today (03). The victim is currently receiving treatment
for his injuries.
Woman shot dead by unidentified gunman - Jaffna, at 6:30 a.m. on 03
An unidentified gunman shot dead an unmarried Tamil
woman, Kanapathipillai Kamalini (40) in the Pulloly area in Point Pedro
around 6.30 a.m. today (03).
The dead body of the victim is at the Manthikai
Air strikes attack tiger heavy weapons position - Batticaloa, at
10:00 a.m. on 03 Jan 2007
On Wednesday (03) around 10.00 a.m. Kfir attack
aircraft bombed a Tiger heavy weapons site in the North of Verugal.
Three tigers surrender to Army - Batticaloa, at 1:30 p.m. on 03 Jan
Three tigers who had escaped from Tiger custody
reported to the Trikonamadu Army camp on Tuesday (02) at 1.30 p.m.
All had been forcibly conscripted by the Tigers. Two
are less than 17 years old. They complain that they have been used for
hard labour in these Tiger camps.
They state that they never volunteered to join the
Tigers but wish to live with their parents and attend school.
Unable to bear the harassment any longer they have
risked their lives to escape knowing that if caught they will face
On Civilian information troops recover weapons and ammunitions -
Batticaloa, at 3:30 p.m. on 03 Jan 2007
On information received from a civilian, the Security
Forces found a G 87 hand grenade near Unachchimadam Bridge on Tuesday
(02) at 3.30 p.m. The grenade was defused.
Once again on information received from a civilian on
Monday (01) 2007, Troops found a T 56 assault rifle, one bayonet, 05
magazines , 146 live rounds of 7.62 ammunition, 04 hand grenades and one
set of accessories to detonate a Claymore mine buried by the Tiger
terrorists near the Vavuniya - Kalikulam area.
Tigers fire artillery and mortars at Army camps - Batticaloa, at
5:25 p.m. on 03 Jan 2007
Tiger terrorists targeted Army camps in WEST Vakarai
with Mortars and Artillery on Tuesday (02) at 5.25 p.m. Four soldiers
were injured and admitted to the Polonnaruwa hospital.
Civilians continues to arrive in controlled areas - Batticaloa, on
03 Jan 2007
On Tuesday (02), 31 persons consisting of 12 males, 10
females, 05 boys and 4 girls arrived in the centers for IDP's in
Kadjuwatte And Vakarai.
They complain that they had left their homes due to
the continuous harassment by the Tigers in the Un cleared areas.
