Traitors Arrested - Polonnaruwa, at 4 Jan

Two home guards Buhari Nasir and Sulaiman Lebbe were arrested by Welikanda police being in possession of two claymore bombs given by the LTTE to be targeted at the security forces. On investigation five detonators, an AK47 weapon and 20 rounds of ammunitions were recovered.

They have confessed that they were given Rs.3000 each by the LTTE.

The two suspects were attached to Katuwanwila police post at Welikanda.

Welikanda police are making investigations.

Air Strike By Kfir Jets Destroy Sea Tiger Base - Mullaitivu, at 7:15 hours on 4 Jan

An air strike by air force 'Kfir' Jets targeted a LTTE Sea Tiger base in Alampil on Thursday (04) at 7:15 a.m.

The Air Force reports the Sea Tiger base was completely destroyed.

Tigers Fire Small Arms at Army Guard Point - Polonnaruwa, at 8:45 Hours on 4 Jan

LTTE terrorists fired Small Arms at the Army guard point in Kalyanapuara, in Welioya on Thursday (04) at 8:45 a.m.

Troops retaliated.

One soldier was reported killed.

In a search operation, a body of a terrorist and a T-56 assault rifle was recovered by Troops.

LTTE Target Troops Detonating a Claymore Mine - Vavuniya, at 9:45 Hours on 4 Jan

Troops on foot patrol on Thursday (04) around 9:45 a.m. were targeted by LTTE terrorists at Pirappanmaduwa by detonating a Claymore mine.

One soldier was reported killed.

Two injured soldiers were admitted to the Anuradhapura hospital.

A search operations is in progress.
