A bus bomb kills 05 civilians , injures over 50 - Nittambuwa - at
19:11 p.m hours on 05th January
Suspected LTTE terrorists exploded a powerful bomb
inside a civilian bus in the Nittambuwa town this evening (Friday the
5th of January). According to the available information, five civilians
were killed and over 50 others were injured in the explosion.
Troops recover t-56 assault rifle and ammunition from Kovil in
Jaffna - at 18:36 p.m hours on 05th January
Troops on a search operation following a tip off from
a civilian recovered a T - 56 weapon, 2 magazines and 60 7.62 mm
ammunition from a KOVIL in Kokuvil around 2.15 p.m. today (05). The Army
believes that these would have been brought to launch a small arms
attack on troops.
LTTE launched small arms attack in Vavuniya - at 13:05 p.m hours on
Tiger terrorists have attacked with Small arms to the
seven sub Sector of the Sector three of VAVUNIYA today (05) around 10.45
One Policeman died and another was seriously injured.
The injured Policeman was admitted to the Anuradapura
Tigers detonate claymore mine targeting navy vehicle in Trincomalee
- at 12:25 p.m hours on 05th January
Tiger terrorists on Friday (05) at 11.15 a.m.
detonated a claymore mine targeting a Navy truck on the Trincomallee -
Uppuveil road, in Alles GARDENS area.
Two sailors who sustained minor injuries were admitted
to the Trincomalee Navy hospital.
A search operation is in progress.
Air strikes destroy sea tiger base in Mullaitivu - at 09:28 a.m
hours on 05th January
Today (05), Air strikes by Air Force 'Kfir' jets
attacked the Sea Tiger base at Chilawatte at 7.00 a.m. The Air Force
reports state that the Sea Tiger base was completely destroyed.
Tigers fire at police post in Vavuniya - at 07:36 a.m hours on 05th
Tiger terrorists fired small arms at the Police Sector
III, No 31 Police post on Thursday (04) at 9.15 p.m.
Two police constables were seriously injured in the
incident and admitted to the Anuradhapura hospital.
The Army and the Police conducted a search operation.
