Navy seizes a haul of cannabis
Sri Lanka Navy troops managed to seize a haul of cannabis in a special operation in Norachcholai today (6 Jul). According to SL Navy media, about 212 kg of Kerala cannabis was seized by naval troops while being transferred in a van. The Navy also arrested a suspect during the operation.

Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) conducted a ‘Dragon Boat Championship’ at the Karainagar Channel recently (July 04). The sporting event was held with a view of enhancing civil-military relationship through sports in the region and boost awareness on water sports and lifesaving techniques among the communities.

The late Gomin Dayasri declared he didn’t want to be a President’s Counsel. Appearing on Sirasa Pathikada, the outspoken lawyer said that there was no point in requesting such a title. Dayasri said so during a conversation with the late Bandula Jayasekera, who invited him on several occasions. Dayasri pointed out the absurdity in the process of appointing President’s Counsel.
