Navy thwarts illegal migration attempt; a group of 40 held in Batticaloa seas and Kalawanchikudi beach area
Sri Lanka Navy managed to apprehend 40 individuals who attempted to illegally migrate to a foreign country by sea, during a patrol conducted in seas off Batticaloa and in a special operation in the beach area of Kalawanchikudi, Batticaloa on 18th May 2022.
Tri forces personnel promoted to next rank on Victory Day
A total of 396 Army, 74 Navy and 450 Air Force officers were promoted to the next substantive rank by their respective commanders on the approval of HE the President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of Defence to coincide with the Victory Day.

SL Navy’s “Ranarisi” brings ashore sick fisherman
A fisherman who had fallen sick while at sea was brought ashore for treatment by the Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) last evening (15 May). According to SLN media, the fisherman on board the local multiday fishing trawler ‘Sindur 04’ was at sea off the eastern coast when he had suddenly fallen ill and was in need of medical attention.
SL Army troops to build new house for a widow in Jaffna
Foundation stone was laid to a new house for a widow in Jaffna recently. According Sri Lanka Army media, the 55 Division of the Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna (SFHQ-J), as a part of SL Army’s social service initiatives has taken measures to build a new house to a widow and her family at Uduththurei in Jaffna.
