Defence Secretary graces the first working day ceremonies of establishments under the purview of MOD
General Kamal Gunaratne, Secretary, Ministry of Defence and Secretary, State Ministry of National Security and Disaster Management graced the official ceremonies organized to mark the commencement of work on the first working day of the new year, 2022 at the Ministry of Defence (MOD) and its key establishments.

The Defence Ministry has been successful in providing a continuous service to meet public expectations amidst the COVID-19 pandemic and it should be carried forward while giving priority to healthcare guidelines in order to fulfill the duties and responsibilities diligently in this challenging situation, the Defence Secretary Gen. Kamal Gunaratne said while praising the efforts of Ministry staffers today (Jan 3).
Defence Ministry adds new feature to its website - “Virtual Library”
The Ministry of Defence takes pleasure in informing its worldwide audience of the latest addition to its website, www.defence.lk in the form of a Virtual Library. This new addition will open the doors for a wide array of e-books available free of charge for those who wish to enhance their knowledge.
