Air Force drops “Seed bombs” over forest reserve
A load of ‘Seed bombs’ were dropped on the Wattegama Kebilitta Government forest reserve in Siyambalanduwa during this week (Oct 05 & 06). According to Air Force media, a total of 75,000 seed bombs were dropped over an approximately 495 acre area of the forest reserve under the fifth wave of the SLAF, Forest Conservation Department and Faculty of Agriculture of the University of Peradeniya organized mission.
Navy assists to upgrade facilities at rural schools
A rural school in the Kalutara district was the beneficiary of the Naval Social Responsibility project (NSR) of Sri Lanka Navy. Kelinkanda Janapadaya Primary School in Agalawatta, Kalutara was renovated under the Navy’s NSR project which coincided with its 70th anniversary celebrations, reports Navy media.
