Air Force drops dry chemical power sacks
The Bell 212 helicopters of the Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) has dropped 425 kilos of dry chemical powder sacks onto the distressed ship 'X-PRESS PEARL' this morning to extinguish fire erupted on-board, said the SLAF Spokesperson Group Captain Dushan Wijesinghe today (26).

Indian vessel arrives to assist fire fighting

Advisory on cyclonic storm “YAAS”
The Met. Department issuing an advisory on cyclonic storm said the deep depression located in the East Central Bay of Bengal has intensified into a cyclonic storm ‘YAAS’ and lay centred near latitude 16.3N and longitude 89.7E, on May 24 around 05.30 a.m.

The Sri Lanka Coast Guard (SLCG) and Police apprehended 30 persons and foiled an illegal migration attempt during a special operation conducted in Samindugama, Chilaw, recently.
Disaster Management Operations
