The Meteorology Department in its weather advisory report early this morning, (4 Dec) said the cyclonic storm ‘BUREVI’ has weakened into a Deep depression while locating about 143 kilometres towards the west-northwest of Mannar early morning today.

Cyclone ‘Burevi’ to gradually reduce today- Met. Dept.

The Meteorological Department’s statement issued at noon today (December 03) stated the cyclonic storm ‘BUREVI’ was located closer to the coastal area  between Mannar and Pooneryn and it is gradually moving away from the island.

The Meteorological Department has informed that the depression area in the south-east Bay of Bengal has concentrated into a deep depression lay and centered 530 km southeast to Trincomalee at 0530hrs today (December 01).
