SLNS Sayurala leaves for India to take part in MILAN 2024

Sri Lanka Naval Ship (SLNS) Sayurala today (16th February 2024) left for India from the Port of Trincomalee to take part in MILAN 2024. Navy aids in containing blaze on private property in Talaimannar

Navy assistance to develop school sanitary facilities

Sanitary facilities of several schools in the Medawachchiya region were upgraded with the generous participation of Sri Lanka Navy troops. According to SL navy media, naval manpower was provided for the development of sanitation facilities of Puleliya Vidyalaya, Thulawelliya Vidyalaya and Ginikatuwewa Vidyalaya Rambewa under a Naval Social Responsibility initiative. SL Army troops assist children

A social service initiative by Sri Lanka Army troops saw schooling essentials including shoes being provided to needy children recently. According to SL Army media, troops of 2 Sri Lanka National Guard (2 SLNG) organized a donation programme (Jan 20) at Kilinochchi Jayapuram Mixed School where  60 students of the school and 40 children of Non-Commissioned Officers/civil staff from the 55 Infantry Division were gifted pairs of shoes.

The Cabinet has approved the Cabinet Paper No. 23/2527/603/061 dated 24.01.2024, on paying of salary and allowances to the dependents of deceased Tri-Forces personnel, who had retired from service on medical grounds owing to terrorist activities during active service in the war prior to 19.05.2009, those deceased prior to reaching 55 years.
