The Sri Lanka Air Force has planned to celebrate its 68th anniversary next month (March) with a series of events including the Air Force Day Exposition and Air Tattoo - 2019. The "Air Force Day" falls on 02nd March.

Army public welfare initiatives benefit underprivileged communities and disable people in the North
With a view to uplift the living standards of the underprivileged people living in the Jaffna Peninsula, Sri anka Army troops launched a project to build toilet facilities for a group of needy families there. Under the project, 27 new toilets were built with support from an expat living in Australia, states Army media.

On the order of His Excellency the President of the Democratic Socialist Republic and the Minister of Defence, Maithripala Sirisena, a decision has been taken by the Ministry of Defence in order to prevent the deforestation caused by the unauthorized cutting of trees, it is hereby informed that all Chainsaw Machines used by the public and private sector in the country should be produced to the nearest Police Station between the period of 20th to 28th February 2019 and a Registration License be obtained.
