Investigations into false newspaper report
A front page newspaper report in a national daily on Thursday (23) had claimed that a doctor connected to the Thowheed Jamaath had sterilized 4000 Sinhala Buddhist women during caesarean operations and that information has been received with evidence and investigations have commenced to arrest the doctor. The newspaper also claims that this doctor had carried out over 7000 surgeries.
DNA tests confirm identities of suicide bombers
The DNA test reports of the Government Analyst's Department have confirmed on Tuesday evening (21) the identities of the Easter Sunday bombers, revealed the Police Media Spokesperson SP Ruwan Gunasekara during a press briefing held at the Media Centre in Kollupitiya last evening (21).

78 arrested over violence in Northwestern region
The Police have arrested 78 individuals in connection with the violence in the Northwestern Province especially in the Kurunegala, Kuliyapitiya, Nikaweratiya and Chilaw Police Divisions during the last two days.
