Curfew passes to be issued only for essential services – Police

The Police said curfew passes would not be issued except for essential services and for the patients in critical conditions under the recommendations of Divisional Medical Officer of Health or Public Health Inspector.
The Police is strictly enforcing curfew law to restrict people moving despite warnings by the health and security authorities.
DIG Ajith Rohana said as healthcare services and media had been identified as essential services, special curfew passes would be issued for them and for other required services.
Meanwhile, the official identity cards of the respective services are also accepted as curfew passes.
