Navy sets up four fully equipped quarantine centres
April 01, 2020Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) has set up four quarantine centres at Mihintale, Oyamaduwa, Mulankavil, and the Oluvil Harbour premises to enhance the facilities to contain spreading of COVID-19 in the country.
In these four quarantine centres 268 persons can be accommodated and the SLN is fully geared to provide sanitary facilities, internet, television, meals on admission, under the direct supervision of Naval Public Health Inspectors.
The projects were initiated on instructions of the SLN Commander, Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva, to support the government’s efforts in enhancing capacity and resilience of the National Health care system to accommodate a possible influx of COVID-19 infected patients.
