Navy develops 'Medi Mate' robot to handle COVID-19 patients
April 09, 2020Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) handed over a remotely controlled smart device ‘Medi-Mate’, to the Dr. Neville Fernando Teaching Hospital (NFTH) yesterday (8).
Supporting Thushara Wadasinghe, who introduced the concept, SLN Research and Development Unit produced the new appliance with added features.
Novel appliance introduced to the NFTH will make all physical contacts with the patients while delivering all medicines prescribed. It is capable of disinfecting the patient prior to any physical contact with the machine.
