Navy helps a foreign seaman found sick to get medical treatment
April 12, 2020Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) helped a seaman, who was sick, to come ashore from an Indian origin container ship yesterday (April 11). The 38-year-old patient was brought ashore following a request made by the local agent operating in Sri Lanka.
The seaman, at the Indian Maersk Avon vessel, which was located five nautical miles away from the Colombo harbour, was brought ashore by the SLN's Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) Unit and directed to the National Hospital, Colombo.
