First Sri Lankan women graduate from Army School of Ceremonial in UK
January 20, 2019Two female personnel of the Sri Lanka Air Force, an Officer and an Airwoman have graduated from the Army School of Ceremonial in Catterick, in North Yorkshire, United Kingdom. Flight Lieutenant Lakshika Attale and Corporal Amarasena DSNK both left the country earlier this month (04) to follow the All Arms Basic Drill Course at Catterick. They are the first Sri Lankan women to attend the course.
The training allows the participants to learn how to perform the drill and also how to teach it. These two SLAF personnel are expected to give share their knowledge and expertise gathered during their stint at the Army School of Ceremonial with other Air Force personnel.
The British Army School of Ceremonial is based at the Infantry Training Centre Catterick, which trains all the British Army's infantry soldiers.
