‘Ekwa Rekemu’ motivational video song launched
April 17, 2020‘Ekwa Rekemu’ - the thematic video song produced by Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation (SLBC) to honour and motivate all sectors involved in the fight against the COVID – 19 pandemic, was released, recently.
The first copy of the video-song was presented to Passenger Transport Management Minister Mahinda Amaraweera. A DVD copy was also presented to Defence Secretary Maj. Gen. (Retd) Kamal Gunaratne during the event held at the Ministry of Power, on April 07.
The production of the song was initiated by Mohammed Uvais of the Ministry of Power, and all proceeds from it are to be awarded to the COVID-19 Presidential Fund.
Minister of Higher Education and Government Co-Cabinet Spokesman, Bandula Gunawardena, Military Spokesman and Director Media of Sri Lanka Army Brig. Chandana Wickramasinghe, SLBC Chairman Jagath Wickramasinghe, Senior Superintendent of Police Indika Hapugoda, Specialist in Medical Cosmetic Care, Dr Jayaruwan Bandara, National Lotteries Board Chairman Lalith Piyum Perera and several other invitees were also present at the occasion.
