Chinese medical aid worth of over Rs. 133 mn to arrive Colombo, today
April 17, 2020The latest batch of medical supplies, worth of USD 693,191.2, donated by the Chinese Government to Sri Lanka, air-freighted from Shanghai to Colombo by China Eastern Airlines MU231, will arrive Colombo today evening.
The medical aid will include 20,016 test novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV) Nucleic Acid Diagnostic Kits(PCR-Fluorescence Probing), 10,000 pieces Medical Protective Face Mask (Filtration rate≥95%), 100,000 pieces of Surgical Face Mask (3-layers), 10,000 pieces of Disposable Coverall (Type: one-piece coverall), 1,000 pieces of Medical Goggle (Anti-splash, Anti-impact, Anti-fog) and 50,000 pair Single-use Rubber Surgical Gloves (Material: natural rubber latex), Chinese Embassy in Colombo press release states.
Embassy Spokesperson and Chief of Political Section Luo Chong said the Chinese Embassy in Sri Lanka makes this opportunity to offer the Sri Lankan Government, her people and all the medical workers the assurances of its highest consideration, respect and best wishes in fighting the COVID-19 pandemic.
