Defence Secretary meets soldiers, airmen, sailors and Police cops in North & East
April 18, 2020- Praises the selfless efforts taken by soldiers, airmen, sailors , STF and Police cops to support the Government's coronavirus prevention programs bearing the health risks.
Defence Secretary Maj.Gen.(Retd) Kamal Gunaratne has visited Security Forces Headquarters at Jaffna, Kilinochchi, Mullattivu, Vavuniya and 22 Division in Trincomalee and addressed troops to appreciate their contribution as frontiers in fighting against new coronavirous Friday (17) .
Maj.Gen. Gunaratne, who met Tri-Forces , STF and Police personnel during his visit to conveyed the best wishes and Sinhala and Tamil New Year greetings of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa.
The Defence Secretary, who was accompanied by Sri Lanka Air Force Commander Air Marshal Sumangala Dias, was welcomed by Jaffna Security Forces Commander Maj. Gen. Ruwan Wanigasooriya, Senior DIG (Nothern Province) Pathmasiri Munasinghe, Wanni Security Forces Commander Maj. Gen. Rohitha Dharmasiri, Senior DIG (Anuradhapura/Vavuniya Division) Nanda Munasinghe, East Security Forces Commander Maj. Gen. Rasika Fernanado, Senior DIG Nilantha Jayawardana, Kilinochchi Security Forces Commander Maj. Gen. Jayantha Gunarathna, DIG Sampath Kumara Liyanage, Security Forces Commander Mullaittivu Maj. Gen. Deepthi Jayathilaka and SSP A.B. Hakmana during his visit to Northern and Eastern provinces.
