Negombo Hospital receives Navy developed third ‘Medi Mate’
April 27, 2020The third 'Medi Mate', a remote-controlled smart appliance, developed by Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) was handed over to the Negombo District Hospital, today (April 27).
Previously manufactured two Medi Mate robots were handed over to the Dr. Neville Fernando Teaching Hospital and Kalubowila Teaching Hospital, by the SLN to support the Government's efforts to protect frontline healthcare workers from contracting deadly coronavirus.
This novel appliance which recently introduced to the healthcare sector, will make all physical contacts with the patients while delivering prescribed medicines. It is also capable of disinfecting the patient prior to any physical contact with the machine.
