46 quarantined people released from SLAF quarantine centre at Welisara
May 05, 202046 civilians, who were quarantined at the Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF)’s quarantine centre at the National Hospital for Respiratory Diseases at Welisara, were released today (May 5).
Established on the instructions of SLAF Commander Air Marshal Sumangala Dias SLAF had renovated the 11 and 12 wards at the hospital to use as the quarantine centre.
The entire quarantine operation was managed by the SLAF Hospital under the supervision of the hospital Commanding Officer Group Captain (Dr) P A V Padmaperuma together with logistical and maintenance support from the SLAF Trade Training School at Ekala.
The SLAF Medical Officer in Charge of the Centre was Flying Officer (Dr) Dilushka Jayakodi together with four members of the medical staff, three CBRNE personnel and 18 other tradesmen from the SLAF Trade Training School at Ekala.
The civilians quarantined at this centre were from the Grandpass, Bandaranayake Mawatha in Colombo and the Welisara hospitals minor staffers directed for quarantine on April 20.
