Chinese donation of medical supplies arrived BIA today
May 08, 2020Chinese Government donated medical supplies - 30,000 Coronavirus Nucleic Acid Test Kits and 12,330 Disposable Coverall (PPEs) – to strengthen Sri Lanka’s efforts to contain the spread of the coronavirus, has arrived at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) at 6.45 pm, today.
The donation, which is a part of the third batch of medical supplies to Sri Lankan from China was carried by China Eastern Airlines flight MU231, operated by its newer wide-body Airbus 33L aircraft from Shanghai to BIA.
Due to the limitation of manufacture and logistics, the remaining donation of medical supplies of this batch - 17,670 PPEs, 30,000 KN95 masks, 30,000 protective goggles and 600,000 surgical masks- will be shipped in coming days at the earliest possible schedule, Chinese Embassy Spokesman Luo Chong said.
