Maj.Gen. Munasinghe appointed new Secretary to Health Ministry
May 12, 2020The Director General of Army Health Services, Maj. Gen. (Dr.) Sanjeewa Munasinghe, who is a Consultant Radiologist, has been appointed as the Secretary to the Ministry of Health.
Maj.Gen. Munasinghe, the former Colonel Commandant of Army Medical Corps, is an alumnus of the Faculty of Medicine of University of Ruhuna.
He completed his MBBS degree in 1986 and joined the Sri Lanka Army in the same year.
He was commissioned as a Captain of Sri Lanka Army Medical corps after following the completion of basic military training in Sri Lanka Military Academy.
Maj. Gen. Munasinghe was appointed as the Colonel Commandant of Army Medical Corps in 2010 and as the first Director General of Army Health Services in 2014.
He served as President of Sri Lanka College of Military Medicine.
