Navy brings ashore sick Malaysian sailor

A sick sailor onboard a Malaysian naval ship was brought ashore for treatment with the assistance of the Sri Lanka Navy on Wednesday (30 January). According to Navy media, Sri Lanka Navy rushed one of its Fast Attack Craft (FAC) to bring ashore the sick sailor who was onboard the Royal Malaysian Naval Vessel "KD Kasthuri" in response to information provided by the Malaysian High Commission in Colombo to the Maritime Rescue Coordinating Centre at the Naval Headquarters.

Naval personnel onboard the FAC reached "KD Kasthuri" in seas 05 nautical miles south of Colombo Lighthouse and safely transferred the sailor from the ship and brought him ashore. Upon reaching the Colombo harbor the sailor was taken to a hospital in the city for further treatment.
