Newly constructed vocational training facility in Vanni handed over to the VTA

The new Vocational Training Centre at Poovarasankulam, constructed with Sri Lanka Air Force expertise was handed over to the Vocational Training Authority (VTA) on Monday (15th of July 2019). According to Air Force media, the construction work was handled by the Air Force with financial provisions made available by the Secretariat for Coordinating Reconciliation Mechanism (SCRM).

Work on the project got off the ground in late December last year (2018). The SLAF Regiment Training School Vanni, which handled the construction of this tertiary training facility managed to complete work by mid-January, this year (2019).

The facility was handed over by Commanding Officer, SLAF Regiment Training School (RTS) Vanni, Air Commodore KKAK Kaluarachchi, to the Deputy Director, Vocational Training Authority, Vavuniya, Mr. V. Kanagasundaram during the ceremony.

Senior Air Force officers and state officials were also present at the occasion.
