Army troops clean towns to stem Dengue outbreak
May 26, 2020Sri Lanka Army troops carried out a cleaning campaign aimed at stemming the possibility of a dengue outbreak in the Kilinochchi area on Friday (May 22).
Most parts of the island experienced heavy rains during the past few weeks due to inclement weather conditions that prevailed.
The program was conducted by the 7th Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI) regiment troops on a request made by the Medical Officer of Health – Karachchi.
The campaign was initiated under the supervision of General Officer Commanding, 57 Division Major General Pradeep de Silva.
