Defence Ministry Received Rs. 61000 to Itukama COVID-19 Fund today
May 27, 2020Assistant Coordinating Director for Piriven Education in Eastern Province, Venerable Kirindiwela Sri Somarathana thero donated Rs. 61000 to the ‘Itukama COVID-19 Healthcare and Social Security Fund’ at the Defence Ministry today (27).
Ven. Somarathana thero, while donating his one month salary worth of Rs. 61000 to Defence Secretary Maj. Gen. (Retd) Kamal Gunaratne said, the donation is to support the government’s effort to contain the spread of coronavirus in the island.
Ven. Somarathana thero is the Chief Prelate of Digamadulla Sri Vidyanada Pirivena in Ampara and Adikarana Sanganayaka for both North and East Provinces.
