Jaffna troops construct another house for a needy family
June 01, 2020One more house constructed by the Army for a needy family in Jaffna was handed over to its recipient on Monday (June 01).
The house was built for the family of Jagathisvaran Ampikavathy of Chankanai. On invitation of Jaffna Security Force Commander Maj. Gen. Ruwan Wanigasooriya, Jaffna Government Agent Kanapathypillai Maheshan handed over the key of the house to J. Ampikavathy during a simple ceremony organized in keeping with health guidelines issued by the health authorities.
With funds provided by the government and a few donors, soldiers of the 11th Sri Lanka Light Infantry and 5th Corps of Engineer Services completed construction under the supervision of 513 Brigade.
Jaffna Additional GA, Jaffna Additional GA (Land), Divisional Secretary Chankanai, General Officer Commanding 51 Division, Brigade Commanders, Officer in Charge of Vaddukkoddai Police Station, a few Army and government officials were present on the occasion.
