Army troops renovate three-story building at Theldeniya hospital for coronavirus patients
June 02, 2020The 17th Corps of Engineers Service (CES) of Sri Lanka Army renovated normal wards at the Theldeniya hospital in Kandy converting them to isolation wards for the coronavirus positives on admission.
Troops of the 172 CES Squadron based at Pallekale commenced renovation of the three-story building on May 7 under the supervision of the 111 Brigade. The building, which was partitioned to facilitate 150 patients, is included an Intensive Care Unit with 10 beds.
Renovated wards were officially handed over to the hospital administration by 111 Brigade Commander Col. K.A.W.N.H Bandaranayake on Sunday (May 31).
