Defence Secretary to Chair two PTFs on building a secure country and managing SL's heritage
June 03, 2020President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has appointed Defence Secretary Maj. Gen. (Retd) Kamal Gunaratne as the Chairman of a 13-member Presidential Task Force (PTF) to build a Secure Country, Disciplined, Virtuous and Lawful Society.
The appointment was published in the gazette yesterday (June 2).
The PTF comprises Tri-Forces Commanders, senior officers of the Tri-Services and the Police.
Defence Ministry’s Senior Assistant Secretary (Civil Security and Development) Saman Dissanayake has been appointed as the Secretary to the PTF.
In addition, Maj. Gen. Gunaratne has also been appointed as the Chairman of a 11-member PTF for Archaeological Heritage Management in the Eastern Province.
Archaeological Chakravarthi Ven. Ellawala Medhananda thero, Chief Prelate for the Eastern and Northern Provinces Ven. Panamure Thilakawansha thero, university academics and senior state officials are the other members of the PTF.
This appointment also given by President Rajapaksa was gazetted yesterday (June 2).
