70 sailors leave SLAF run Iranamadu quarantine centre
June 06, 2020Seventy sailors, who were quarantined at the Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) run Iranamadu centre, were released this morning (6 June 2020).
Established under the instructions of the SLAF Chief Air Marshal Sumangala Dias to support the government’s efforts in controlling the spread of coronavirus in Sri Lanka, Iranamadu centre functions under the supervision of the Commanding Officer, Group Captain Rohan Pathirana.
Seventy sailors quarantined at this Centre were from the Welisara Naval Base who arrived at the SLAF quarantine centre on May 20.
The sailors, who were released after the PCR results which had confirmed that they are free of coronavirus, have been instructed to be self-quarantined for 14-days, before returning for duty.
