Three Policemen interdicted over alleged assault on autistic teenager
June 06, 2020Three Police officers have been interdicted over an incident of assault to an autistic teenager at Ambagaha Junction police checkpoint in Aluthgama on May 25, Police said.
After a probe conducted over the incident, a Sub-Inspector of Police, a Police Sergeant and a Police Constable have been interdicted for ‘failing to carry out their duties’, Police said in a statement.
Police Women and Children’s Bureau is conducting further investigations into the incident under the directives of Acting Inspector General of Police Chandana Wickremaratne.
