President visits late Major Wasantha Dinesh Jayawickrema’s house
February 03, 2019President Maithripala Sirisena condoles over the family and parents of Major Wasantha Dinesh Jayawickrema who sacrificed his life at the Mali operation attached to the United Nations Peacekeeping Forces in Mali.
The President who visited the house of Major Wasantha Dinesh Jayawickrema at Polonnaruwa, Abhyapura area expressed condolences to his mother U.D.Premakanthi and father Gamangoda Jayawcikrema and engaged in a cordial conversation.
The bodies of the two soldiers who sacrificed their life in Mali is to be brought back to the Island and the President inquired on those matters.
The President condoled over this great son of the motherland who sacrificed his life at the operations in global peace activities bringing such great dignity to the island and marked a note in the special visitors book kept in the house.
