NOCPCO Head briefs foreign diplomatic officials on Sri Lanka’s efforts against Coronavirus
June 17, 2020Head of the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO), Lt. Gen. Shavendra Silva, in a meeting with a host of officials of the foreign diplomatic circle, presented a detailed account on the role of Tri-Force and health sector officials in containing the spread of COVID-19 on Tuesday (June 16).
Presenting an update to a group of Defence Attaches/Advisers from eight foreign missions in Sri Lanka on the effort taken against the Coronavirus threat, Lt. Gen. Silva summed up the national tasks, preventive and precautionary measures, the conduct of quarantine procedures and quarantine centres including the role of Tri-Forces medical personnel, cluster outbreaks, infected expatriates and foreign personnel and future challenges ahead.
Lt. Gen. Silva also expressed his gratitude to all international partners who had extended their support to Sri Lanka during the effort in fighting the pandemic.
