Army constructs new house for female soldier Darshika Jesuthasan

Jaffna Security Force Headquarters (SF-J), with financial assistance of Sinhalese donors in the south, built a new house for Darshika Jesuthasan, a female soldier serving in Palali. Commander SF-(J) Maj. Gen. Ruwan Wanigasooriya handed over the key of the new house to the beneficiary family at a simple ceremony on June 18.

Kumar Weerasuriya from Colombo and his colleagues, who have already funded many houses in Jaffna, provided financial support for this house constructed at Ottahapulam by the troops of 11th Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment.

Darshika Jesuthasan from Kayts, enlisted to the 7th Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps, is currently serving at Palali SF-J Headquarters. Darshika’s father, Ganapragasam Jesuthasan had been a sailor of the then Ceylon Navy.

Valikamam Divisional Secretary, 52 Division Commander, Brigade Commanders, Senior Officers, Government Officials, donors and troops who contributed for construction participated in the handing over ceremony which was conducted in line with current health guidance.
